I’m pretty sure I’ve already posted about this, but sleeping is hard.
I’ve recommitted to trying to sleep better after a couple of weeks of a very screwed up sleep schedule. But it doesn’t look like the changes are going to happen overnight (pun not intended, but welcome). Last night, I was sure I’d get to bed by 10, or even earlier. Except then I found a tiny shard of plastic in Jerry the Leopard Gecko’s enclosure. As far as I can tell, it’s a freak accident from a piece of a broken plastic bulb that I vacuumed up months ago that I apparently missed and took a ride on a paper towel into the enclosure. Still, it got me worried, so I fished Jerry out, put him in a portable enclosure (he was not pleased), and swapped out all the paper towels making up the floor of the enclosure. I also wiped the surface beneath down, and recovered about eight stray roaches that had escaped his food bowl over the past while.
All of this is a long way of saying that when all was said and done, I ended up getting to bed at like 10:30, at least 45 minutes later than I meant. It was important and worth it, but it’s proof that this stuff won’t be easy. I need to remember to buffer for random life events like this.
I also accidentally napped for like three hours this afternoon. Which I’m sure will making going to bed tonight super easy.
Someday, though, I’m going to fix it. I’ll actually sleep 7+ hours a night. Maybe then I’ll be less fall-down tired all the time. So right now, sleeping is hard. But hopefully someday soon it’ll be easier.
